An under-explored gas play in the Northern Foothills of Alberta has been repeatedly experiencing significant success over the last few years, notably over the first nine months of 2006. The Upper Cretaceous Dunvegan play appears to have considerable room for expansion along the narrow Foothills trend, from Narraway (T63, R10W6) to Hinton (T51, R25W5), aided by continually improving seismic imaging techniques and understanding of local deformation mechanisms.
